Yes! that is the question that I really want to ask to all.
Do you find your work interesting?
If not? How do you deal with this problem?
Do you go out and find out what interests you?
Do you just carry on at the work with that kind of feeling?
There are people who do not have enough work but they do not have any problem with it. They can peacefully spend some eight hours in the office without work. I believe it is highly frustrating if you have to do that.
I was just thinking about what can be done in such situations. Situations like not having work or situations were your work does not interests you.
One option that is very obvious is just find out the type of work that interests you and start doing that. I am sure it is not as simple as it appears to be from the one liner statement. There are various types of constraints that are ruling at any particular point in time.
Another option is you can just continue with your current work and side by side start doing something in the areas that interests you. Humm that seems to be a practical view and also possible to an extent.
Have a right career guidance from experts in your areas. I do not think that we have right forums were we can catch hold of these so called "Experts" and seek guidance. What say?
Are the options over? I don't think so. Has anyone ever tried to discuss this with there bosses and human resource department in there organisation? Not really sure about but they should have some more options in store in such situations. May be or may be not....
The other concern is shall we always select one particular line of work and stick to it. Shall we not ever try exploring other interesting areas of work? and why not? Of course there are certain pros and cons to this option. However, I do not think we should ban this option completely. Learning new things is definitely exciting. That is not only an option but may be a necessity. In case we stop learning new things life will be extremely boring.
